On rattache au rameau gallo-roman, le rhéto-roman, parlé dans les Alpes (...). On distingue le romanche (48000) (...); le ladin (12000) dans le Tyrol du Sud (...) et le frioulan (400000) [langue parlée dans le Frioul] (Langage, 1968, p. 1134 [Encyclop. de la Pléiade]).
